Yvonne McManus
Yvonne is a qualified and specialist dyslexia teacher with over 20 years of SEND and teaching practice. She is passionate about transforming educational experiences for children in Wiltshire, helping them to overcome learning barriers, develop their academic knowledge and achieve personal success.
She has taught and supported children and adults to navigate the complexities of learning in primary, specialist secondary, further and higher education settings.
Yvonne’s inclusive and trauma-informed practice develops a learner’s confidence and their resilience for academic learning through a positive, patient and ‘can do’ approach.
Her specialised one-to-one teaching is designed to meet a learner’s specific needs, bridge gaps in knowledge and support learning engagement in the classroom.
My Core Principles
Individualised Learning
I recognise that every learner is unique. I design each session to build on their existing strengths, nurture emerging skills, and provide targeted support where it’s needed most. My aim is to make progress feel achievable and meaningful.
Empathetic Environment
I create a safe, encouraging space where learners feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, and trying new strategies. I want learning to feel positive, empowering, and free from judgement.
Collaborative Practice
I work closely with schools, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent, joined‑up support across all learning environments. When everyone is aligned, learners thrive—and that’s always my goal.
