My Services
I offer an initial assessment, which can be followed by a number of specialist one-to-one teaching sessions.

Initial Assessment
Mindgap Teacher’s assessment of reading, spelling and writing or numeracy identifies a child’s strengths and gaps in their knowledge. Development areas are discussed with commissioners prior to assessment.
The assessment is usually one hour and this takes place at a school or community setting. Afterwards a report is produced summarising strengths, development areas and recommendations; this can be used to inform future planning for a child’s learning.
Please note, this is an assessment for learning and not a diagnostic assessment for dyslexia or dyscalculia.
The cost of assessment is £100 (inclusive of assessment time and the written report).

Specialist one-to-one teaching
The first session is the learning assessment which identifies the learner’s strengths and development areas for literacy and/or numeracy. The assessment report will be shared with the commissioner.
Subsequently, Mindgap Teacher develops a bespoke learning programme to address a child’s specific learning needs. This builds confidence and self-esteem, enabling learners to develop core skills which support their learning and engagement in an educational setting.
Sessions are structured and sequential to bridge learning gaps and develop literacy or numeracy knowledge and skills. They are appropriately paced to match the learner’s needs and linked to a child’s interests to facilitate engagement and retention. Progress is tracked after every session, monitored for impact and reports are shared with the commissioner at termly progress reviews (three times a year).
Sessions take place at school or a community setting and last for 45 minutes.
The cost of the initial assessment session (one hour) is £100 and each subsequent 45-minute session cost £75. (The minimum booking is for one term). (For example, a six-week term of sessions which includes an initial assessment would cost £475).
Sessions are booked in termly blocks and we follow Wiltshire Council school term dates.
